Schoolchildren performed cultural programmes to mark pre-Independence day celebrations, on Tuesday.
At an event organised by the Printers (Mysore) Private Limited office located in Kumbalgod, school kids enthusiastically came together to celebrate Independence Day.
The event commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Editor of Deccan Herald, K N Tilak Kumar.
As a part of the community service activities organised by Printers Mysore Pvt Ltd, school children were specially invited to take part in the event.
Government Primary School students of Challaghatta put up dance performances on Kannada songs, sang patriotic songs and performed yogasana.
Special children from Krishna Chaitanya, Special Residential School for Mentally Challenged Children aged between 6 to 16 years performed beautiful dance forms dedicated to mother nature and also rendered a patriotic song to enthrall audience. Students also took part in sports events held on the occasion.
