The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, on Wednesday, launched the eighth volume of ‘Gandhi Upanishad,’ written by Dr Mathoor Krishnamurty.
The book is an account of Mahatma Gandhi’s life. The author has tried to convey a message through each and every incident of the Mahatma’s life, he could recall.
Before taking shape of a book, ‘Gandhi Upanishad’ was a popular column in a Kannada daily. Going by its popularity Dr Krishnamurty turned it into a book which is now available in Kannada and English. The English translation has been done by Mr S N Chandrasekhar.
After releasing the book, Chairman of the Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, Dr H Srinivasaiah said, each word spoken by the Mahatma almost a century ago, is relevant even today. “The world facing terrorism, dishonesty, hunger and poverty can find solace by treading on the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi,” he added.
