At the time when Field Marshal Manekshaw parade ground was resounding with the I-Day parade of security personnel and school children, there was another unique parade taking place on MG Road.

Around 300 animal lovers took out a rally — ‘Freedom Walk for Animals’ on MG Road coinciding with the I-Day celebrations in progress on the other side of the road.

The rallyists included volunteers and members of animal activist groups like Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (Cupa) Krupa.
