Gunman succumbs

Gunman in Karnataka High Court Judge Justice Anand Bhairareddy’s house, Asay Thambi (47), who was admitted to a hospital after he consumed poison on August 7, died on Wednesday.

He was a head constable in CAR, Koramangala, and was working as a gunman for some time. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital after he consumed poison, he breathed his last on Wednesday. Police sources denied reports that Thambi had left a suicide note stating that mental torture drove him take the extreme step.

Robbed

Four unidentified persons robbed Chakukapa (35), a native of Arunachal Pradesh, his gold chain worth Rs 6,000 on Tuesday in Upparpet police station limits. Police said, the incident occurred near Tulsi Park when the victim, had come out of the lodge, where he was staying, for a walk.

The culprits threatened him with a knife, snatched his gold chain and fled. Chakukapa had come to Bangalore to seek admission for his brother in a college.

Dies in accident

Motorist Ravi, (35) was killed on the spot in an accident in Byatarayanapura traffic police limits on Tuesday night. A resident of Byatarayanapura, Ravi failed to notice a tempo parked on the roadside and rammed into it.

The mishap occurred in front of a biscuit factory on Mysore Road. A tempo was parked on the roadside as it had developed some problem. Ravi came in full speed and failed to notice the tempo. He rammed into it and was killed due to severe head injuries.

Fire in Lodge

Fire  broke out in Kamath lodge near Lal Bagh West Gate on Wednesday night. Police, fire and emergency officials rushed to the spot and put off the fire immediately.

Short circuit is said to be the reason. A bed also caught fire on the second fire. No one has been injured. Due to timely arrival of the Police, there was no major property loss, police said.
