India, Our First And Foremost Loyalty
New Delhi, Aug. 15.
Prime Minister Nehru today gave an inspiring call to the people of India to pledge themselves, in the name of the heroes and martyrs of the war of Independence and of the hundred years of freedom struggle, to make India the object of their “first and foremost loyalty”, Prime Minister Nehru told a mammoth meeting held at Ramlila Grounds under the Chairmanship of President Rajendra Prasad.
City Goes Gay On A Decade Of Freedom
Bangalore, Aug. 15.
Bangaloreans went gay and joined the millions in the rest of the nation to rejoice the tenth Independence Day, synchronising with the Centenary of India’s struggle for freedom.
Salutation to the Tricolour and homage to martyrs who laid own their lives in the cause of freedom featured the programme of celebration.

India Demand Israeli Pull-out
New Delhi, Aug. 15.
India and Mongolia today expressed serious concern over the deterioration of the West Asia situation following the aggression against Lebanon and the Palestinian people and demanded immediate cease-fire and the unconditional withdrawal of Israeli forces, in a joint communique at the end of the three-day visit of Mr Managalyn Dugersuren, Mongolian Foreign Minister.
