Abhijeet resonates again
Shainu Mohan

After the long gap of two years Abhijeet launches his second album Junoon and he was in Bangalore on Saturday to promote his new album

While the buzz is on for finding the third Indian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant, the first and the orginal Indian Idol is out with his second album called Junoon after a gap of two long years.

Says Abhijeet about his new album and new look,  “Junoon contains emotions and music that I believe every individual will relate to.  Junoon mirrors the passion that I have within myself.  It describes the passion that drives all of us sometime to lift ourselves from the dust.  That is what Junoon is.  It is an inspiration to every individual to raise themselves towards their goals.”

Abhijeet’s first album ‘Aapka Abhijeet Sawant’ was one of the best selling Indipop album of 2005.
He has also proved himself by singing playback in movies like ‘Aashiq Banaaya Aapne’ and ‘Jawani Diwani’.  “I will be singing playback in Ram Shanker’s Kannada film and Mahesh Bhatt’s forth coming film ” says Abhijeet
Junoon, is quite a transformation from his first album, has a total of ten tracks that are a mixture of pop, rock and sufi.

“My previous album  was a melodious one and my voice was like that of a chocolate boy. But for this album I have worked on my voice and it carries ten very matured tracks having a mixture of pop, sufi and rock. I am getting good response for Junoon.  On the very day of the album release 200 CDs were sold in Mumbai itself ”, he adds.

The album also contains a remix number by DJ Akbar Sami.  Other than that most of the music is composed by the talented debutant Amit Trivedi along with Mithoon (of Tere Bin and Maula fame), Biddu and Jatin Sharma.
