Cartoon Gallery
The Indian Institute of Cartoonists (IIC) is launching the Indian Cartoon Gallery at Midford House, Midford House, off M G Road on August 16 at 11.30 am. The Gallery will be inaugurated by Governor T N Chaturvedi.
The inaugural exhibition of cartoon will be late B V Ramamurthy, cartoonist and assistant editor of Deccan Herald and former Chairman of IIC; V G Narendra, cartoonist, Kannada Prabha and Managing Trustee, IIC and B G Gujjarappa, freelance cartoonist and financial advisor, IIC.
Theatre workshop
Orange Sky Productions is holding a six-week acting workshop, starting August 16 that would include learning and discussing basic acting techniques for stage and camera along with sessions involving camera practicals.
Sessions would be thrice a week — Tuesday and Thursday from 7 pm to 9:30 pm and on Sunday from 3 pm to 8 pm — at Baldwin Boys' High School, Hosur Road. Training modules include topics such as Sense memory and action problem, imagination, improvisation, movement, speech, among others.

Spreading awareness
Hemophilia Federation is organising a walkathon to spread awareness on Hemophilia and its related issues on August 18 at Kanteerva Stadium.
The event, that is expecting over 3000 participants, is aimed at creating awareness on reducing the pain and agony of the unfortunate victims of hemophilia.
Among the list of participants are sports personalities such as Aparna Popat, Nisha Millet, M K Asha, Ashish Ballal, Dhanaraj Pillai, Vasanth Bharadwaj, David Johnson to name a few along with actors, musicians, dancers, corporates as well as students.
The walk (for adults — 8 kms walk, for celebrities and children — three kms) will begin at 7 am from Kanteerva Stadium. For details call: 23462242/ 98447-46077.
Comedy play
Kriyative Theatre is presenting the 36th show of their hit comedy ‘Heegadre Hege?’, based on the writings of Kannada humourist, T Sunandamma.
Scripted by K Y Narayana Swamy, the play has been directed by Pramod Shiggaon and has television artistes Sunder and Laxmi Chandrashekar playing the lead.

Dance festival
Iskcon is organising a dance festival, ‘Sri Krishna Shringar’ from August 17 to 23 that will feature five classical dance forms of India that include kathak, odissi, kuchipudi, mohiniattam and bharatnatyam.
The festival will have legendary artists of the fame of Bharati Shivaji and her troupe from Centre for Mohiniattam; Pandit Birju Maharaj and his dance school Kalashram; Vempatti Chinna Satyam's Kuchipudi Art Academy;
Priyadarshini Govind and Madhavi Mudgal and her troupe from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Lessons on gardening
A gardening workshop — Dig and sow — for children will be conducted by appleofmyi, a store in Indiranagar. The workshop will be held for four consecutive Saturdays starting August 18.
In the workshop kids can learn all they want to know about gardening, tools used for gardening, manure, parts of plants and worms at work along with a session plant care and pesticides.
