Fun turns tragic for 4 children
New Delhi, PTI:
Independence Day revelry turned fatal for four children, who were hit by a moving train while they were trying to grab free-flying kites beside the main railway line in the Shastri Park area.

Independence Day revelry turned fatal for a boy while three of them had severe injuries when they were hit by a fast moving train after straying on to a railway track while trying to snatch kites from each other.

The children, aged between 12 and 16, were hit by a moving train while they were trying to grab free-flying kites beside the main railway line in the Shastri Park area.

“While three of them had severe head injuries, one died. All them are in the age-group between 12 to 16,” Additional DCP (Railways), R K Jha said.

“The bodies are yet to be identified while it is assumed that the children belonged to the slum clusters from the adjoining area. The bodies are kept in Guru Teg Bahadur hospital,” he added.

The incident occurred in the afternoon on the railway line passing through Shastri Park area in East Delhi.
