D’Souza clinches open event
David D’Souza won the open event in the Independence Shield 2007 golf tournament conducted by the Bangalore Golf Club on Wednesday.

Rohan helps SJCC ‘A’ enter semis
Rohan scored thrice as SJCC ‘A’ defeated Lowry College 6-2 to move into the football semifinals of the Spiel sports fest organised by St Joseph’s College of Commerce. Sam netted a brace and Raju contributed the other for the winners. Lowry’s scorers were Karthik and Zoseem.

Also entering the last four were Christ College who defeated Baldwins 2-0, SJAS who edged SJCC’ B’ 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out, and Kristu Jayanti who were 2-0 victors over Presidency.

Nandakumar elected president
K Nandakumar has been elected  as president of Bangalore City District Volleyball Association at its annual general body meeting on Wednesday. D Ramesha is elected as senior vice-president of the association while H Anilkumar is the general secretary.
