The taluk administration was in the news last year as the Tricolour fell to ground while hoisting on Independence Day.
It is said that National Flag was hoisted at half mast at Mini Vidhana Soudha for more than an hour and the authorities later took steps to hoist the flag properly.

On the other hand, it is said that a torn out flag was hoisted at the KSRTC bus stand in the city.
