With the State government allegedly cold-shouldering their persistent demands, sand transporters are planning a mass protest near the Vidhana Soudha.

Members of the Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Associations on Thursday said the protest would be in support of their ongoing strike — that has entered the 10th day — against Government policies on sand transportation.

Federation President G R Shanmugappa and Secretary B V Narayanappa said that thousands including building contractors, builders, developers, drivers and transporters would surround Vidhana Soudha soon, to protest the Government’s “lethargic” attitude with regard to the striking truckers’ grievances.
