A four-year old child died and seven others took ill after drinking contaminated roadside tap water in Nalurpuram (Ward No 24) next to Jagadish Nagar in HAL police station limits on Thursday night.
The police said, at around 8:50 pm, Pooja and others started vomiting and complained of stomach ache. They were immediately shifted to a hospital. But Pooja was declared brought dead.
Devi Kumar (4), Ammaramma (30), Mariyamma (41), Girija (30), Jyothi (14), Channappa (65), Gangamma (55) are admitted to the hospital.
