A harmony of voices
DHNS

Glorious, a popular city choir, presents the 16th Glorious Festival of Harmony to be staged at Dr Ambedkar Bhavan, Vasanth Nagar on August 18 at 6 pm and August 19 at 5.30 pm.

This year the outstation groups include the nationally acclaimed male voice quartet from Chennai, Harmonics, their mixed voice avatar—Harmonics Complicated, and a group of acapella specialists from Christian Medical College,  Vellore.

Bangalore schools include Bethany High and St John's High School, along with Bishop Cotton Girls’ High School, Ryan International Schools, Mallya Aditi International School and Vibgyor High School.

College entries
The college entries include Jyoti Nivas, Mount Carmel, St Joseph’s Arts and Science, New Life College, Christ College, National Law School of India University , United Theological College and SAIACS.

Churches
Church participation is from Indira Nagar Methodist Church, Bangalore Mar Thoma Chorale and East Parade Church.  The East Parade Children’s Ensemble will perform for the first time on the festival of Harmony stage.  The independent groups include Bangalore Youth Choir, The Pilgrims, Chromatix, Kiara Kids Chorale, Glomen, The Tabernacles and the hosts, Glorious.

Says Reji Chandy, the president of Glorious, “We are indeed excited at being able to host this festival, giving an opportunity to over 1,000 participants.  And, of course, the blessing of being treated to almost all genres of harmonic music! To have on stage a four-year-old and a 70-year old, together perform various arrangements of rap, raaga, rock, rock and roll and reggae —what could possibly provide us a better  glimpse of heaven and a gentle touch from the creator of Harmony.”

Tickets
Tickets priced at Rs 250, Rs 100 and Rs 49 are available at ELS, Supermarket, The Book Room, Pauline Books, Olive Branch, Grace Gift Centre, OM Books, Wind Chimes and Glorious. You  can also call  25484004 or 9243209701 or mail  to gloriousmusic@gmail.com
