MURKY STORY UNFOLDS
Bride dissapears from train
Patna, DHNS:

The mystery over the sudden disappearance of Archana Singh, the newly-wed daughter of a fast track court judge, S Prasad, from a running train in Bihar, has become murkier.

Archana was returning from Darjeeling with her husband Rajiv Singh after her honeymoon.

The couple had boarded the Capital Express at New Jalpaig uri and had their berths reserved in the sleeper class. When the train reached Katihar (Bihar), Rajiv discovered that Archana was not on her berth. A case of missing was lodged at the Mokama station.

Railway SP, Ajitabh Kumar told Deccan Herald on Thursday that a case of missing had been registered by the railway police.

“The case, however, appears to be a mysterious one, as the footwear of the girl had been found near her berth,” said the SP. He also found it strange that the couple was travelling in sleeper class when her husband, a railway employee, was entitled to complimentary passes in AC compartments.

“A massive manhunt has been launched to trace the missing woman. However, we are investigating the case from all angles,” said the SP, who added that the girl was said to be mentally disturbed over not qualifying in competitive examinations.

Her husband Rajiv, a section engineer in Indian Railways, ruled out that the girl might have run away on her own.
“Archana was an introvert and did not interact with everyone,” he said, when quizzed at the railway police station.
