Even now new factories, offices and other institutions keep coming into Bangalore. Can the government not restrict this uncontrolled entry into Bangalore? Can they not fix the limits of the city and strictly ensure that the city does not grow beyond these limits? This is the only way to ensure that the city does not degenerate any further. Similarly, the limits of growth for all the second tier cities like Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Dharwar and Belgaum should be fixed, so that they do not follow the bad example set by Bangalore.
My first visit to Bangalore from my native Davangere was about 65 years back. My cousins had then taken me around Bangalore on foot to show all the four Towers erected by Kempe Gowda. They told that they had been erected to set the limits for the city's growth. Kempe Gowda had predicted that Bangalore would see its downfall, if the city extended beyond these limits. It is a shame that the present day politicians and administrators do not have the foresight of Kempe Gowda.
