Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, in association with CAE, Canada, will launch a simulation school to train helicopter pilots in Bangalore. The Rs 200-crore training school will be operational in September 2008, Ashok K Baweja, Chairman, HAL, told reporters on Thursday.
The school will train pilots of various helicopters, but will focus on training pilots for the Armed Light Helicopter Dhruv.
Baweja said the first batch of trainer jet Hawks will be handed over to customers in April, 2009. He added that HAL planned to build a factory to manufacture multi-role combat jets and also float a separate business unit for this.
