IBM announced on Thursday that it has developed Hindi speech recognition software jointly with Centre for Development in Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune, which may popularise use of computer for official work in the Hindi heartland.
The desktop Hindi speech recognition technology is better than similar software available in the market, the company said in New Delhi.
Features
The software has a vocabulary of 75,000 words, and can distinguish between various dictions and pronunciations. The product has been licensed to the CDAC, which will commercialise it.
The technology understands voices and transcribes human speech with little use of keyboards thereby helping people unfamiliar with Hindi language or computers.
