The conduct of opposition and left parties in Parliament while the Prime Minister was talking on the 123 agreement is an aberration on our democracy.

In this context, the articles of B.G. Varghese and Rajdeep Sardesai which appeared in DH on 17th August are timely, pragmatic and need be read by all discerning public.  The agreement is basically on nuclear cooperation for the supply of fuel, technology and equipment for peaceful purposes, especially for energy.  Development and testing of nuclear weapons cannot be stated as a priority for operationalizing the agreement.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, who had piloted the agreement should be heard in full before creating road blocks in the agreement by others.
