Indian spikers enter second round
New Delhi, PTI:

India beat Belgium 3-1 to register their second victory in as many matches and move into the second round of Volleyball Youth World Championship in Mexico.

India defeated the European team 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21 in one hour and 46 minutes.

Earlier, India were awarded a 25-0, 25-0, 25-0 win, after Tunisia failed to turn up. Indian captain Mandeep Singh, with game-high 30 points, said their strategy paid off  against Belgium. “We prepared our strategy very well. Our team has been training and playing together for the last three months and we did an excellent job,” he said.
Coach Bir Singh Yadav said good serving was the key to India’s success. “We had seen Belgium playing against Mexico and knew we had to serve strong to stop them from having a good reception. Our serves worked well and because of that we had a better chance to block their tall players.”
