Vempatti Chinna Satyam’s Kuchipudi Art Academy performed a dance drama, Gopika Krishna on the second day of the Krishna Srinagar at the annual Indian Dance Festival of ISKCON.
The piece beautifully blended dance and music to depict episodes from Lord Krishna’s life.
Be it the naughty child who lifted the Govardhana mountain or the vanquisher of evil who killed his uncle Kamsa, Guru Vempati’s choreography made it a delight to watch.
This dance festival features five classical dance forms of India including Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam and Bharatnatyam with legendary artists Bharati Shivaji and her troupe from Centre for Mohiniattam, Pandit Birju Maharaj and his dance school Kalashram, Vempatti Chinna Satyam's Kuchipudi Art Academy, Priyadarshini Govind and Madhavi Mudgal and her troupe from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, performing at the festival.
