Free screening camp in KMC
KMC Hospital in Ambedkar Circle will be condcuting a free screening camp for patients with chronic cough, breathlessness and chronic bronchitis on August 21, 22 and 23 from 9 am to 1 pm.
According to a press release, Chronic bronchitis, one of the most common chronic lung diseases, is mainly caused by smoking. But the disease is on a rise in recent years due to worsening of air pollution and indoor pollution due to exposure to household fuels. Unlike asthma this disease once fully developed cannot be fully reversed with treatment.
The camp will be conducted by HoD of chest medicine Dr R C Sahoo and the other consultants Dr Anand R, Dr Vishak Acharya and Dr Preetham. Directorate of Correspondence Courses of Mangalore University has announced ranks in MA (Economics) and M Com for the year 2006.
According to a release, Ms Mamatha B has secured the first rank in MA (Economics), while Ms Cyarona Suchetha D’Souza has secured the first rank in M Com.
The exams for the correspondence post-graduate courses had been held in December 2006.
