CM to open high tech dairy at Koodige today

The processing unit of the dairy which was modernised at a cost of Rs 3 core by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and which enjoys the credit of being the first dairy to be opened in the State will be inaugurated by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday.
High quality milk will be distributed in Kodagu area through the dairy which comes under the jurisdiction of Hassan Milk Federation.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Federation Manager B P Ranganath said new products including curd, butter milk, ghee, sweets and other high quality milk products will be produced.
Due to the efforts of State Milk Federation President H D Revanna, NDDB granted Rs 265.32 lakh in short-term loan, while Rs 39 lakh was extended by Hassan Milk Union for modernisation of the dairy, informed Mr Ranganath. 
With the upgradation of the freezing capacity, over 5,000 to 25,000 litres of milk can be freezed, while packing capacity will increase from 3,000 to 50,000 litres.
