Minister surrenders, gets bail
Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development, M A A Fatmi, on Saturday surrendered before a court here, which granted him bail in connection with a case of violating the model code of conduct during the 2005 Lok Sabha election, PTI reports from Darbhanga (Bihar).

Fatmi, a senior RJD leader and Lok Sabha member from the district, gave himself up before the court and applied for regular bail.

Kalpnath Rai’s sister murdered
Former Union Minister Kalpnath Rai’s sister was allegedly found murdered at her residence in Kundesar village here, police said on Saturday, PTI reports from Ghazipur (UP).

The body of Parvati Devi, sister of Kalpanath Rai, was found in her house by her son on Friday night. He found the body after returning from a sugar mill in the neighbouring Mau district where he was working.

Baba Amte hospitalised
Noted social worker Baba Amte, who was hospitalised here on Friday night following uneasiness at a private nursing home, is better now, family sources said, PTI reports from Nagpur.

Amte, 92, complained uneasiness due to urine infection and after initial treatment at his Anandwan Ashram at Warora in Chandrapur district was shifted to a private nursing home. His wife Sadhana Tai and son Dr Vikas Amte accompanied him.
