Chief Minister H D Kumarasway said that the Ramanathapura temple will be renovated at Rs five crore.
He was speaking after inaugurating various developmental works being undertaken at Rs 30 crore, in Ramanathapura on Sunday. Noting that he had visited the temple during his village stay three months ago, he said that he was hurt by its state.
He had instructed the officials to take up development of the temple at Rs five crore on the occasion and he has inaugurated the same on Sunday, the Chief Minister quipped. He was quick to add that a Travellers’ Bungalow will be sanctioned at an estimated cost of one crore rupees so as to cater to the tourists.
He laid foundation stones for construction of a bridge across the Cauvery river in Ramanathapura at Rs eight crore, an additional platform for tobacco market at Rs two crore among others.
Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, District Incharge Minister H D Revanna, Tobacco Board President Dr Suresh Babu, former MP H K Javaregowda, Gram Panchayat President Huchhegowda, Taluk Panchayat President B R Madhukar, Deputy Commissioner K H Ashwath Narayanagowda, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer R F Jamadar and others were present on the occasion.
