Five persons died in separate road accidents here on Sunday.
Suresh (19), a cleaner, died when a maxicab rammed into a motorbike in Peenya Industrial Estate. A cyclist, identified as Raghu (35) of Jakkur village, was run over by a tipper truck on Jakkur Main Road.
Chikka Rangegowda (29), a call centre employee and a resident of Manjunath Nagar, was fatally knocked down by a truck at MES Railway Gate.
An unidentified man, aged around 35 years, died after he was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on Mahadevapura Ring Road.
In the fifth accident, Allan Gorden Wheels (23), a facility manager at Hotel Ginger in Whitefield, was run over by an unidentified vehicle in KR Puram police station limits.
Apartment fire
A fire broke out on the first floor of Raheja Chambers on Museum Road, behind the post office, late on Monday.
around 10 pm, neighbours noticed smoke billowing out of the first floor of the apartment and alerted the fire department. Three fire tenders battled for two and a half hours to put out the fire. Short circuit is suspected to be reason for the fire.
Man murdered
A labourer’s body was found with his throat slit at a construction site in Rayasandra in Parappana Agrahara police limits. He has been identified as Madan (32).
