Cop gifts stolen vehicle to son
Hyderabad, Agencies:

A police official here gifted a two-wheeler recovered in a theft case to his son, who in turn allegedly used it to snatch gold chains worn by women.
Police in Cyberabad, the IT hub of Hyderabad, have begun a probe into the allegations against the sub inspector, identified only as Raheem and attached to Uppal police station.
Raheem had seized a motorcycle in a theft case 18 months ago and later gifted it to his son.
His son was caught driving the vehicle with a fake number plate. The young man was also allegedly using the vehicle for snatching gold chains.
Chain-snatching
He was caught a week ago in the wake of increasing chain-snatching incidents in the city.
He has been taken into custody.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner S Prabhakar Reddy has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Disciplinary action is likely to be taken against Raheem, police sources said.
On Commissioner S Prabhakar Reddy’s direction, all seized vehicles kept at police stations have now been shifted to one place.
