As an impact of derailment of a train somewhere in Tamil Nadu, a train has been cancelled while another one has been rescheduled. Similarly the Bangalore-Darbhanga City Express (2557) has been cancelled due to flood.
According to the information, train derailments took place on Tuesday as well as on Wednesday. On Tuesday, two empty bogies of Jaipur Express derailed near the platform six of the Central Chennai station. Sources said again a derailment took place somewhere in Southern Railways.
As a result, Mysore-Chennai Cauvery Express (6221) leaving Mysore on Wednesday has been cancelled. The Bangalore City-Chennai Brindavan Express (2640), which was to leave on Wednesday at 2.30 pm left at about 7.45 pm due to the late arrival of the pairing train.
In order to clear extra rush during Onam festival, the South Western Railways has decided to run some special trains.
The Ernakulam-Bangalore-Ernakulam weekly special will leave Ernakulam on Mondays at 5 pm and reach Bangalore the next day at 4.20 am. The return direction train from Bangalore to Ernakulam will leave Bangalore on Tuesdays at 5.15 pm and reach Ernakulam at 4.30 am. The service from Ernakulam would begin from August 6 and end on August 27, while the service from Bangalore will commence from August 7 and end on August 28.
The Kochuveli-Bangalore weekly special will leave Kochuveli on Thursdays at 2.15 pm and reach Bangalore the next day at 7.15 am. The return direction train from Bangalore to Kochuveli will leave Bangalore on Fridays at 6.55 pm and reach Kochuveli at 11.10 am the next day. The service from Kochuveli would begin from August 2 and end on August 30 while the service from Bangalore will commence from August 3 and end on August 31.
