4 die in mishap

Bangalore, dhns: Four persons died in separate road accidents in the last 24 hours.

A man was run over by a BMTC bus near Channasandra bus stop on Wednesday night. He has been identified as Veerendra Aradhya (34). Irate passerby stoned the bus plying between Channasandra and City Market. Aradhya is a resident of Koraluru village in Hoskote.

In another incident, Dakshanini (23) came under the wheels of a water tanker while crossing the road in Kanteeravanagar.

Devaraju (24), a scooterist, was mowed down by a BMTC bus on Whitefield Road. He was a resident of railway quarters.

A man died when a lorry rammed into his bicycle in Garudachar Palya. Shabber Basha (33), the deceased, was working as a technician in an MNC.

Man ends life

A 55-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train early on Wednesday. The body was found on Bangalore-Mysore railway track in Kempapura Agrahara Layout. It has been shifted to the government hospital.

Shop burgled

A sum of Rs 94,000 was stolen from a two-wheeler showroom on Dr Rajkumar Road on Wednesday night. According to Rajajinagar police, miscreants had used gas cutters to cut open the shutters.

Youth held

With the arrest of an 18-year-old youth, Mahadevpura police cracked a theft case and recovered 130 gm of gold.
According to the police, Narasimha Murthy alias Lakshmaiah had stolen it from a house in Garudachar Palya where he was working as a gardener.
