SKDRDP has appointed volunteers in 23 gram panchayat limits and 500 Sanghas have been formed in the taluk, said SKDRDP Directors Jayaram Nelliyathaya.
He was speaking to reporters after distributing bicycles to the volunteers. Preparatory meets have been held at Jayapura, Balehonnur, Kerekatte, Begaru, Agalagandi, Guddethota, Meguru, Shanthigrama and Hariharapura, which was attended by more than 2,500 people.
Villagers in Kudremukh reserve forest limits have been responding to the SKDRDP. More SHGs have been formed in the region. Seven SHGs in Guddethota, 37 in Kerekatta, 5 in Athikodige, 5 in Shanthigrama have been formed.
