Officials accused of turning deaf ear to publics problems

The funds released by various departments to provide basic facilities have failed to reach the beneficiaries, said MLA S R Shrinivas.
Speaking at the taluk panchayat meeting here, he warned the officials of delay tactics and corruption and turning a deaf ear to public’s problems.
He also denied his role in the suspension of food inspector, and instead said that the inspector has been suspended by the deputy commissioner based on a report by the taluk officer. He also said that he will never interfere in anybody’s works
Further he stated that he has been noticing some officials in the food department being passive and remaining aloof from the problems of the public. He warned that he would report the ignorance of such officers to the government.
Fair price shops
Speaking about the inefficiency of fair price shops he said that these shops should ensure that people from poor economic background get food products appropriately and held the food department officials responsible for that.
Taluk panchayat member Vadalur Vijay Kumar accused the BESCOM officials of not paying any heed to the farmers problems and thus being the cause for their miseries.
He said that the prevailing water problem at Hosakere and Kallur villages could be solved by setting up transformers there. He also accused the line men over there who are arrogant and and do not listen to the problems of the public.
Many members supported Vadalur Vijay Kumar when he recommended for the transfer of such arrogant workers.
The members further put forth their dissatisfaction over the forest department officials and alleged that some officials in the department have been involved in corruption and have failed to responding to the people.
They also accused them of selling the chopped trees which are grown along the sides of the roads for less prices than what those trees actually deserved. They also demanded to transfer the Zonal forest officer.
The members did not come to a consensus regarding the shift of the Inspection Bungalow to fire station office and instead demanded to establish the office at the Herur village which has 8 acres of land.
Taluk panchayat president Rehmat Unnisa, vice president Basavaraju, taluk panchayat members, CEO D K Lingaraju officials of various departments were present during the meeting.
The meeting agreed for an action plan to take up various developmental works at an estimated cost of Rs 5.90 crores.
