The development in education of a country is parallel to its progress, opined Taluk panchayat former president M B Paramashivaiah.
He was speaking after presiding over the function of free distribution of books and writing materials at Halkurike government school recently.
It is very important in today’s situation that corruption is thrown out of the country, he opined. He called for the rich to help in the upliftment of the poorer sections of the society.
Tiptur Block Education Officer C Rangadhamaiah requested to help the poor meritorious students by giving them financial assistance.
He appreciated teacher Vijayalakshmi’s donation of free notebooks and writing materials to 80 students of the school.
Taluk block co-ordinating officer S Swamy spoke on the responsibility of teachers in the personality development of the students.
He also suggested the students to be inspired by Dr Ambedkar, Dr Abdul Kalam and other leaders and follow their paths.
Halkurike gram panchayat president Bhagya, DMC president Kumaraiah spoke in the function. Headmaster Nanjundaiah, donor Vijayalakshmi, B R P Kantharaju and others were present during the occasion. While Saritha prayed, teacher Shrinivas welcomed. Kusuma compered.
