A health check-up camp for students of the Government Higher Primary School was organised under the aegis of Agriculture University, Agriculture Science Centre and Juwari industry at Anchekoppal of Tumkur district.
Senior marketing officer Dr P N Joshi speaking on the occasion said, such camps will be beneficial to the children from economically poor background.
Chief guest at the programme Health Officer Dr M S Swamy said, the farmers in rural areas should provide their children the food made of fresh vegetables grown in their fields.
Dr Y S Shivalingaiah of Centre for Agriculture Science said, the organisations should convene more and more such programmes on children’s health.
Dr B P Shashikant called upon the staff and students to grow vegetables in the school garden. This will help in supplying the children nutritious food.
Dr H S Mamata explained that the food made of ragi provides required nutrition. Dr T r Basavaraju, Dr Vijayalaxmi Padaganur and Dr Prasanna were present.
