A carrom club owner was stabbed to death on 3rd Cross, Padarayanapura early on Wednesday.
Hanumanthu (35), a resident of the same area, was running the club near Abhiman Theatre in Hosahalli. Around 1:40 am when he was heading home on his two-wheeler, a gang of three waylaid him and attacked with lethal weapons.
With several stab wounds on the chest, stomach and neck, Hanumanthu died on the spot, said the police.
Sources said a gang, with the help of J J Nagar police, started a rummy club on 7th Cross, Padarayanapura.
Some residents, including Hanumanthu, protested against the ‘gambling den’ in their area. Irritated, the three decided to eliminate him.
Coral fishes seized
Officers of CID, Forest Cell conducted a raid at a stall in Russel Market, Shivajinagar and seized 13 coral fishes worth Rs 3 lakh.
