Coimbaore blasts case: Mahdhani acquitted A special court in Coimbatore on Tuesday acquitted Kerala Peoples Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Mahdhani and convicted Al Umma leader S A Basha, his nephew Mohammed Ansari, and son Siddiq Ali in the 1998 Coimbatore serial blasts case.
Haneef still not off the hook
An Indian police file on Mohamed Haneef completed after his arrest in Australia says the Gold Coast doctor has alleged links to Al-Qaeda, the Australian newspaper The Courier Mail has reported.
Doctor ducks questions on charges
Doctor Mohammed Haneef on Wednesday chose not to react directly to Australias charges that he could have had prior knowledge of the foiled terror attacks in UK. An ill-at-ease Haneef dodged questions on the charges.
Harrowing night for fallen star
Guess who is giving company to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who has been lodged in the Arthur Road central prison here? None other than Praveen Mahajan, the man who is facing trial for murdering his elder brother Pramod Mahajan. The two reportedly had dinner together after Sanjay was shifted from Barrack No: 10 to Barrack No: 1 on security grounds late on Tuesday night.
APMC stir: Vegetable prices set to soar
The prices of vegetables and fruits are expected to skyrocket in a day or two in Bangalore City due to the indefinite bundh call given by traders of agro-products in protest against the recent amendment to the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act.
