Hizbul leader killed
Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed a major breakthrough in anti-militancy operations after killing a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander in Doda early on Wednesday, IANS reports from Jammu.
Abid Hussain, a divisional commander of the largest indigenous terror group Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed in an encounter in Nagma Mohalla in the mountainous Doda district, Manohar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, said.
The official claimed that with Abid's death, the police have largely succeeded in bringing an end to the terror business in the mountainous belt of the Jammu region.
Sex racket unearthed
A prostitution racket involving foreigners was unearthed with the arrest of five girls from Uzbekistan and a pimp in a posh locality of south Delhi, PTI reports from New Delhi on Wednesday.
The six women, including the pimp, Neelam, were operating from a rented premises in Amar Colony for some time, police said on Wednesday.
Police added that the arrests were made on Tuesday following specific information about their alleged activities in the area.
