e-Governance mooted for all depts
Bangalore, DHNS:
The Committee on Sub-ordinate Legislation has on Wednesday recommended to the government to implement e-governance system from panchayat to all government departments, including the legislature, by August 15, 2008 besides introducing biometric-based attendance system in all government offices.

In its 34th report submitted to the Assembly, it also advised the government to extend the “Bangalore-One” system to all district headquarters.
The Committee, headed by legislator N Yogish Bhat, also recommended that the government digitally store all records, proceedings, discussions, questions and answers of both Houses of the legislature.
Digitally stored information should be made available to the legislators by installing touch screens, with search facilities, on the table of each member in the Assembly and the Council besides providing internet connections to the touch-screens.
