Pre-University College lecturers who had come to evaluate English papers of II PU supplementary examination had tough time on Wednesday, the last day of valuation.
Though they finished valuation process by 2 pm at NMKRV College in Jayanagar, they were not given cheques of remuneration till 8 pm.
Had to cancel
A lecturer from Bidar said that he had to cancel his Railway ticket as he could not make it to the City Railway station because of delay in distributing cheques.
Valuation process
“All of us had completed valuation process by 2 pm. But when I got my cheque it was already 8.20 pm. I had to cancel my railway ticket. Now I have to stay here one more day in Bangalore. Who will pay for additional expense. Moreover I cannot claim OOD (on official duty) on Thursday as the valuation is over on Wednesday”, the lecturer said.
“The PU Education department was well aware that the valuation process would be over by 2 pm. Then why did not they prepare cheques well in advance instead of putting us into difficulty. Tomorrow is a working day and I have to reach my place before the dawn no matter however difficult it is”, said a lecturer, who had come from Chitradurga district.
