Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Managing Director Ashok Kheny on Wednesday challenged the State government that he will build an international airport in Bangalore on 1,000 acre land in shortest time and also return an excess 1,000 acre land acquired by the government for this project.
Talking to news persons here, he said the Bangalore International Airport project was cleared by the previous S M Krishna Government and the present JD (S) and the BJP led coalition government cannot claim the credit for it. The incumbent government had acquired more than 2,000 acre in and around Devanahalli project and earmarked Rs 350 crore for the same. “But 1,000 acre land was sufficient to build the airport. If the government entrusts this work to my company I will return 1,000 acre excess land to farmers and also Rs 350 crore to the government. Is the government ready to accept my challenge?” he said.
