“We are here to stay and are here to grow” and “we have decided to do whatever it takes to achieve that,” said Siemens Chief Executive & President Peter Loescher while briefing reporters here on his first visit to India after taking over the post in July this year.
In the last three years, volumes in the India operations had tripled and the momentum would be kept up, he said.
With 17 manufacturing plants and 15 companies, Siemens India is a leading infrastructure and industry solutions provider with a business volume aggregating Rs 9,000 crore. The company, however, has no plans to put up more factories here nor proposed to delist from the Indian bourses.
Aims export growth
Upbeat on India’s economic growth, he said areas like public transport, power, infrastructure and healthcare would provide the company the needed impetus to grow two-fold in three years.
The group, he said, intends to jack up exports from India to the region in countries like, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Middle East and African countries. Curerntly, 35 per cent of Siemens India’s revenue comes from exports, Mr Loescher said.
