Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited (GHCL), owner of UK-based retail chain “Rosebys”, will enter India’s booming retail segment by opening exclusive home textiles retail chain stores across the country.
“We will open 100 exclusive home textiles retail outlets across the country in the next three years. To begin with, we will open few stores in New Delhi,” GHCL Chairman Sanjay Dalmia told reporters here on Tuesday. Subsequently GHCL will open retail outlets in major metropolis including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Ahmedabad, he said adding “our network of retail chain will mostly include Tier I and Tier II cities.”
GHCL, which presently has two textile mills one each in Vapi in Gujarat and Madurai in Tamil Nadu, has already acquired a strong retail exposure through its UK-based retail chain “Rosebys” with more than 300 stores, Mr Dalmia said.
GHCL acquired “Rosebys” in June 2006.
