People of Bangarpet expressed happiness as Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has agreed to launch the works on drinking water project on August 24 in Yaragola itself, as demanded by them residents here.
Legislator B P Venkatamuniyappa, representing the public, had appealed to the chief minister to lay foundation stone in the land specified for the project in Yaragola.
Earlier it was decided hold the foundation laying ceremony for the drinking water project in Kolar on August 24. However the public expressed their dissatisfaction over this as the land identified for the project is in Yaragola. The project is aimed at providing drinking water to Bangarpet, Kolar , Malur region including 80 villages.The chief minister who was silent on this issue till Monday evening, after consulting the deputy chief minister, agreed to go by the public’s demand.
As part of preparations for the ceremony, on Tuesday, the legislator accompanied by the deputy commissioner Ramachandra, Kolar district superintendent of Police Dayananda and officials of other departments paid a visit to the spot identified for the proposed drinking water project and also supervised the preparations on for the ceremony. Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will arrive at Yaragola on August 24, at 11.45 am.
The officials concerned were instructed to construct helipad at a convenient place for the ministers’ arrival.
After the foundation laying ceremony, the chief minister and the deputy chief minister will go by helicopter to Kolar where they will launch several developmental works and address the public.
The officials have been directed to make required arrangements immediately for the programmes. In-charge Assistant Commissioner Jayavibhavaswamy, taluk panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Venkataswamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Ramakrishnappa and Public Works Department Engineer Gangadhar, Assistant Executive Engineer Nagesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police K A Nanaiah, Circle Inspector A G Kariyappa, BJP leaders Gajaga Krishnappa, Mallesh Gowda, Shankar, Taluk Panchayat member Ramojirao were present on the occasion.
