No classes were held in Government Law College for two days as students had called for a bundh protesting against the principal for not allowing II year students to organise welcome function for the I year students.
The principal had not given permission for the welcome function as he was of the opinion that students would collect money in the name of the function which is not acceptable. Moreover, they would take the help of outsiders for money collection which is against the college rule. This was mentioned on the noticeboard few days back.
Hence, students were disappointed and said “we are not collecting money from anybody, the principal is making false statements”.
They alleged the principal saying that students have to wait till evening for any work as the principal doesn't come on time to the college. Students Janatadal District President B Suresh Gowda and others solved the problem with the help of Sub-Inspector Subramani after negotiating with the principal.
Finally, II year students were allowed to organise the function on a condition that students would come in uniform to the college to identify the outsiders. The principal was asked to be in the college from the morning.
