Inidan Network For People Living with HIV (INP) had organised an awareness workshop on HIV, in Tumkur.
Physician Dr M R Hulinaykar, speaking after inaugurating the workshop, said healthy lifestyle and safe sex help people in preventing AIDS. “Hence we need to learn art of living, said the doctor. He also called upon the people to eradicate the social stigm attached to the disease.
INP president Ilango told the gathering that the HIV infected people could increase their life span by leading healthy life and good eating habit. “I’m living with HIV for the last 20 years and have come to know that the disease is not deadly; but it is a disease with lack of immunity,” he said.
A month-long awareness drive across the country, will be launched soon to spread awareness on HIV/AIDS, he said. Dr Pratap Naik called upon the HIV infected people to avail the facilities provided for them. Parvati, who is living with HIV for since last three years, told the gathering to take treatment for HIV regularly and religiously and also to look after the HIV infected with love and care.
