Sarvamangala R, Sathisha N S, Devidas Kamat and Srinivasa M S. of Kuvempu University were awarded PhD.
Dr G T Govindappa of Department of Commerce in Kuvempu University was guide for Sarvamangala whose  research work was on ‘Institutional support system and development of women entrepreneurship in Karnataka: with a special  focus on Bangalore district.’ ‘Studies on the groundwater quality of Chikmagalur and surrounding area’ was the topic on which Sathisha N S wrote his thesis. Satisha is presently working as lecturer at AIT, Chikmagalur. Dr E T Puttaiah of Department of Environment Science in Kuvempu University guided him. Devidas Kamath wrote his thesis on ‘Studies of algal diversity in certain fresh water ecosystem of Shimoga district.’ Dr E T Puttaiah was his guide.
Doctor of Philosophy was awarded for Srinivasa M S for his research on ‘Effect of environmental factors on human reproductive health with special reference to human semen parameters.’ Dr E T Puttaiah and Dr Kamini Rao of Bangalore Assisted Conception Centre guided the research work.
