DCC to give farm loans at 4 percent interest
District Central Cooperative Bank has clarified that no service fee would be is charged for farmers.
DCC bank shall extend loans to farmers at 4 percent interest. Circular for charging 1 percent service fee for short and medium term loans from April 1, 2007 has been withdrawn and all primary cooperative societies in the district have been instructed to give up collecting service fee. In a release, Managing Director of DCC bank has informed that cooperative societies have been asked to repay the amount collected as service fee to the farmers.
Subsidy for Food Processing
Ministry of Food Processing of Union Government will extend subsidy for persons who are interested in food processing ventures.
Entrepreneurs interested in settingup food processing units, upgrading the existing units can avail the subsidy. Industries like processing fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, fish, poultry, spices, copra, mushroom, aromatic industry and flour mills are eligible to avail the benefit. 25 percent of the unit expense will be offered as subsidy for which Rs 50 lakh is the ceiling. Copper sulphate subsidy
Horticulture Department will provide copper sulphate for farmers at 50 percent subsidy.
Fungal infection, popularly known as kole roga has surfaced in areca plantations in the district owing to heavy downpour in the month of August. Farmers are instructed to treat the affected trees with copper sulphate mixture. Farmers can avail the copper sulphate by producing record of rights and identity card.
