The evacuees of Tatkola withdrew their fast after eight days following the assurance from the deputy commissioner on Friday. However, Horata Samiti President Ramegowda and Secretary Manjunath said though they have withdrawn the hunger satyagraha, the protest will continue. The assurance was given as per the decision taken at the meeting attended by the DC and people’s representatives, that required facilities will be provided within a week after discussing the issue with the government.
After being given the assurance, the hunger satyagraha was withdrawn, they informed.
The evacuees informed that 119 families will continue the protest in front of the taluk office till the complete package reaches them.
