Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory has retrieved data from two high capacity hard disks seized from the residence of Kafeel Ahmed, the terror suspect in the foiled UK car bombings.
“We have recovered all the hidden and deleted data from the disks and have put it in two CDs. We will send the CDs to Bangalore police on August 27 for further investigation,” APFSL Director O Narasimha Murthy said.
Kafeel Ahmed succumbed to burns in a Glasgow hospital early this month.
Refusing to divulge contents of the CDs, he said: “We can’t say whether it is anti-national or not, it is for the police to probe.”
“We had received two hard disks of 120 GB capacity and some video clippings in Urdu. After analysing and examination of the material, we made two CDs incorporating the retrieved data,” Murthy said.
APFSL, a premier forensic science laboratory in the country, had handled about 19,400 cases including 300 cases referred by other states last year, the director said.
STATE TARGET?
Bangalore, DHNS: Did Kafeel Ahmed, the alleged suicide bomber, involved in the failed car bomb attack at Glasgow airport terminal on June 30, plan targets in Karnataka?
According to highly placed sources Kafeel had reportedly mentioned in his hard disks, some key targets in Karnataka. “What were his exact plans is not really known,” said the source.
“He was deeply influenced by jehad and had allegiance to a terror network close to Al Qaeda. His hard disk, has some extremely sensitive material of commitment to jehad. But there’s no mention of Sabeel’s involvement in his brother’s plans, said sources.
