Karnataka took control of the proceedings by establishing 194-run lead over Assam by on the second day of the Buchi Babu Memorial Cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

After restricting Assam to 203, Karnataka were 46 for one in the second essay.

Australian Institute of Sports on Tuesday enhanced their chances of progressing to the semifinal defeating Andhra by nine wickets to take their points tally to 16 from two matches.

In another match, Kerala achieved their first success in two matches when they scored an emphatic innings and 19 run win over Hyderabad.

Brief score: Karnataka: 351 and 46/1 in 10 overs vs Assam: 203 all out in 77 5 overs (Shiv Shankar Roy 50, Tejinder Singh 39; S Arvind 3-32, Ryan Ninan 2-35, Vinu Prasad 2-42, C Raghu 2-23).

Coimbined Districts: 299 vs Vidarbha: 199/7 in 72 overs (Amit Deshpande 37, Alind Naidu 48, Gourav Upadhye 50; S Suresh Kumar 4-52, C Suresh 2-45).

Hyderabad: 99 and 170 all out in 41.5 overs (T Suman 49, Abhinav Kumar 48; SK Nair 4-53) lt to Kerala: 288/8 (S Sarma 78, K J Rajesh 37, R Vincent 40; Lalit 3-137).

Baroda: 330 vs Gujarat 87/5 in 45 overs (Vishwanath Parmar 2-25, Swapnil Singh 2-20).

The second day’s play in the matches between Rajasthan and Punjab and TNCA vs Mumbai was abandoned due to poor ground conditions.

Andhra: 195 and 103 all out in 30.4 overs (B Sumant 26; Shawn Gillies 5-27, Aaron Heal 4-28) lt to  Australian Institute of Sports 204 (Chris Simpson 38, Shawan Gillies 27, Aaron Hill 37, M Suresh 5-45) and 95/1 in 20 overs (Like Pomes Back 53 n.o).

Tripura: 219 and 46/2 in 8 overs vs Madhya Pradesh: 320/9 in 90 overs (Rohan Srivatsava 89, Rahul Baxshi 30, Rohit Dhruv 46 n.o., Sanjay Pande 30; Anupum Dey 3-85, Rajesh Banik 2-73).
