The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed the BDA Commissioner to appear before it on Aug 27, following “improper handling’’ of a case by an advocate in BDA’s panel.
During the hearing of a petition by Jayamma challenging the acquisition of her residential site in Sanguruvanahalli, the BDA counsel on record failed to appear before the court.
His junior colleague was unable to assist the court properly. Taking serious exception, Justice N Kumar summoned the BDA Commissioner.
KIADB case
KIADB special deputy commissioner Vijayashankar appeared before the Court as per its earlier summons.
Justice N Kumar dealing with a petition against KIADB land acquisitions in Naganathapura, had summoned the commissioner following the failure of KIADB advocate’s failure to file statement of objections in time.
Children’s custody
The High Court directed the Child Welfare Committee to hand over three boys - aged 7 years, 10 years and 12 years - to their parents following a habeas corpus petition filed by their parents.
A habeas corpus petition by Rukmini and T Venkatesh of AP had alleged CWC had illegally detained their children.
