Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has extended the fee collection date for the March 2008 examination
For private candidate registration and renewal at DDPI offices: August 29
Last date for collecting examination fee from all candidates: August 31
Last date for purchasing demand draft by head of institution: September 3
Submitting the filled application form, DD to scrutiny officer at exam board: September 6
Bee-keeping training
The State Bee-keeping Extension centre of Khadi and Village Industries Commission will organise 15 days elementary bee-keeping training course from September 3 to 17 at Centre’s office in Vijinapura, Dooravaninagar, Bangalore. Unemployed youths can take part in the workshop. Call: 080-25650285.
State institutes awards
The state government has instituted awards to recognise the voluntary efforts of individuals/institutions engaged in rendering services in the field of child welfare and development.
The awards carry an amount of Rs one lakh each for two institutions with a citation and an amount of Rs 25,000 each with a citation to two individuals for the best work done in the field of child welfare.
The prescribed application forms to apply for the award for the year 2007 can be obtained from the concerned Deputy Directors of Women and Child Department at district places. August 31 is the last date for submission of applications.
Govt to publish GSS works
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S Horatti on Tuesday said the State government has decided to publish all works of Rashtrakavi G S Shivardurappa at a cost of Rs 58 lakh.
Speaking at the inauguration of a competitive exam study centre at Vijaynagar, he said 2,000 copies of each work of Shivarudrappa would be published.
He said the government would set up libraries for children in 27 districts. The BBMP has purchased books worth Rs 3 crore.
